The Wondrful Gazonks were led to their 3 point victory by a 17 point effort from Carson Palmer, who snuck past the Detroit Lions defense for 161 passing yards and 3 passing TDs. They also got help from a 12 point effort from T.J. Yeldon, who snuck past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense for 32 rushing yards in addition to 31 receiving yards.
“The important thing is that we won,” The Wondrful Gazonks coach Josh Vadnais said.
The Hellfish were helped out in a losing cause by a 21 point effort from Aaron Rodgers, who got by the St. Louis Rams defense for 241 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 39 rushing yards. They also got help from a 11 point effort from Arian Foster, who snuck past the Indianapolis Colts defense for 41 rushing yards in addition to 77 receiving yards.
“My hat’s off to them,” The Hellfish coach Wade Iverson said.
Compounding the issue, The Hellfish could have scored 69 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Wade Iverson left key players like Blake Bortles and his corresponding 29 points on the bench.
The Wondrful Gazonks took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 9 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 5.
This brings the record for The Wondrful Gazonks to 2-3, and drops The Hellfish to a record of 3-2.
