Grid Iron Bullies were led to their 17 point victory by a 20 point effort from Julius Jones, who beat the St. Louis Rams defense for 140 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 4 receiving yards. They also got help from a 14 point effort from Peyton Manning, who got by the Jacksonville Jaguars defense for 216 passing yards and 1 passing td in addition to 12 rushing yards.
“This was a confidence booster,” Grid Iron Bullies coach Eric Bell said.
The Wondrful Gazonks were helped out in a losing cause by a 14 point effort from the Baltimore Ravens Defensive Team. With this performance, the Ravens was the number 2 ranked defensive team for week 3. They also got help from a 9 point effort from Derek Anderson, who snuck past the Baltimore Ravens defense for 125 passing yards and 1 passing td in addition to 2 rushing yards.
“We don’t care about moral victories,” The Wondrful Gazonks coach Josh Vadnais said.
Adding salt to the wound, The Wondrful Gazonks could have scored 89 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Josh Vadnais left key players like Brian Griese and his corresponding 26 points on the bench.
This brings the record for Grid Iron Bullies to 1-3, and drops The Wondrful Gazonks to a record of 2-1-1.
Coming up in week 4, The Wondrful Gazonks are at the 1-3 The Hellfish, where The Hellfish are an early 12-point favorite, while Grid Iron Bullies are at the 3-0-1 San Quentin Saints, where San Quentin Saints are an early 13-point favorite.
