The Slim Shaggys were helped out by a 20.40 point effort from A.J. Brown, who beat the Green Bay Packers defense for 119 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. They also got help from a 16.20 point effort from Deebo Samuel, who snuck past the New York Jets defense for 54 receiving yards in addition to 23 rushing yards.
“We made a statement here today,” The Slim Shaggys coach Mark Olson said.
Z-Squad were helped out by a 19.00 point effort from C.J. Stroud, who got by the Indianapolis Colts defense for 234 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 13 rushing yards. They also got help from a 15.40 point effort from Jahmyr Gibbs, who snuck past the Los Angeles Rams defense for 40 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 34 receiving yards.
“We lost our focus,” Z-Squad coach Joshua Grosz said.
Causing further embarrassment, Z-Squad could have scored 97.80 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Joshua Grosz left key players like Tua Tagovailoa and his corresponding 21.00 points on the bench.
This brings the record for The Slim Shaggys to 1-0, and drops Z-Squad to a record of 0-1.
