(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources – Oct 22, 2024) In a week 7 UFFLE matchup, the 4-3 Squishy Fuzz squeaked by a tough 4-3 Z-Squad team by a score of 120.90 to 113.50, silencing a partisan crowd of 62,974 at Frozen Tundra.
Squishy Fuzz were led to their 7.40 point victory by a 25.40 point effort from Joe Mixon, who beat the Green Bay Packers defense for 115 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 9 receiving yards. With this performance, Mixon was the number 4 ranked running back for week 7. They also got help from a 25.30 point effort from Brock Purdy, who got by the Kansas City Chiefs defense for 212 passing yards in addition to 27 rushing yards.
“We snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat,” Squishy Fuzz coach Scott Stanina said.
Z-Squad were helped out in a losing cause by a 30.00 point effort from Jahmyr Gibbs, who beat the Minnesota Vikings defense for 116 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 44 receiving yards. With this performance, Gibbs was the number 3 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 7. They also got help from a 24.70 point effort from Derrick Henry, who beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense for 169 rushing yards in addition to 13 receiving yards.
“It’s going to be a long plane ride home,” Z-Squad coach Joshua Brecht said.
Compounding the issue, Z-Squad could have scored 140.45 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Joshua Brecht left key players like Kyler Murray and his corresponding 22.65 points on the bench.
Z-Squad drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 12 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 7.
This brings the record for Squishy Fuzz to 4-3, and drops Z-Squad to a record of 4-3.
Coming up in week 8, the 1-6 Hot Buttered Moose Nuts are at Z-Squad, where Z-Squad are an early 21.7-point favorite, while Squishy Fuzz are at the 4-3 The Hellfish, where The Hellfish are an early 10.6-point favorite.
