Grid Iron Bullies were led to their 5 point victory by a 13 point effort from John Kasay, who snuck past the New Orleans Saints defense for 3 field goals made and 3 extra points. With this performance, Kasay was the number 2 ranked place kicker for week 7. They also got help from a 11 point effort from Peyton Manning, who got by the Green Bay Packers defense for 229 passing yards.
“We sent a message here today,” Grid Iron Bullies coach Eric Bell said.
The Hellfish were helped out in a losing cause by a 15 point effort from Jake Delhomme, who snuck past the New Orleans Saints defense for 195 passing yards and 2 passing tds in addition to 8 rushing yards. They also got help from a 12 point effort from Matt Forte, who snuck past the Minnesota Vikings defense for 56 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 17 receiving yards.
“They own us,” The Hellfish coach Wade Iverson said.
Adding salt to the wound, The Hellfish could have scored 55 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Wade Iverson left key players like Matt Cassel and his corresponding 18 points on the bench.
This brings the record for Grid Iron Bullies to 3-5, and drops The Hellfish to a record of 2-6.
