Squishy Fuzz were led to their 3 point victory by a 33 point effort from Drew Brees, who tore apart the New England Patriots defense for 371 passing yards and 5 passing TDs. With this performance, Brees was the number 1 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 12. They also got help from a 12 point effort from the Seattle Seahawks Defensive Team.
“It feels great to be world champions,” Squishy Fuzz coach Scott Stanina said.
Z-Squad were helped out in a losing cause by a 16 point effort from David Garrard, who beat the San Francisco 49ers defense for 307 passing yards in addition to 10 rushing yards. They also got help from a 10 point effort from Mason Crosby, who snuck past the Detroit Lions defense for 2 field goals made and 4 extra points.
“It just wasn’t meant to be,” Z-Squad coach Michael Grosz said.
Causing further embarrassment, Z-Squad could have scored 74 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Michael Grosz left key players like Josh Freeman and his corresponding 19 points on the bench.
