Grid Iron Bullies were led to their 0.7 point victory by a 16.5 point effort from Frank Gore, who got by the Detroit Lions defense for 89 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 16 receiving yards. They also got help from a 12.9 point effort from DeAngelo Williams, who snuck past the New Orleans Saints defense for 69 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD.
“I’m really proud of the way our guys hung in there,” Grid Iron Bullies coach Eric Bell said.
Vinny’s Gang were helped out in a losing cause by a 15.5 point effort from Matthew Stafford, who got by the San Francisco 49ers defense for 230 passing yards and 1 passing TD in addition to 10 rushing yards. They also got help from a 14.9 point effort from LeSean McCoy, who got by the Baltimore Ravens defense for 81 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 8 receiving yards.
“You’ve got to hand it to them,” Vinny’s Gang coach Jon Steffan said.
Causing further embarrassment, Vinny’s Gang could have scored 106 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Jon Steffan left key players like Danny Amendola and his corresponding 22 points on the bench.
This brings the record for Grid Iron Bullies to 2-0, and drops Vinny’s Gang to a record of 1-1.
Coming up in week 3, Grid Iron Bullies are at the 1-1 San Quentin Saints, where San Quentin Saints are an early 5-point favorite, while the 1-1 Bad Attitudes are at Vinny’s Gang, where Vinny’s Gang are an early 11-point favorite.
