The Wondrful Gazonks were led to their 1 point victory by a 23 point effort from Cam Newton, who got by the Atlanta Falcons defense for 249 passing yards and 1 passing TD in addition to 22 rushing yards. They also got help from a 23 point effort from Adrian Peterson, who beat the Dallas Cowboys defense for 140 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 37 receiving yards.
“We’re happy we could pull this one out at the end,” The Wondrful Gazonks coach Josh Vadnais said.
Greasy Weasels were helped out in a losing cause by a 23 point effort from Jimmy Graham, who beat the New York Jets defense for 116 receiving yards and 2 receiving TDs. With this performance, Graham was the number 1 ranked tight end for week 9. They also got help from a 22 point effort from Tony Romo, who beat the Minnesota Vikings defense for 337 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 8 rushing yards.
“We didn’t match their intensity,” Greasy Weasels coach Mason Mannie said.
Adding salt to the wound, Greasy Weasels could have scored 118 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Mason Mannie left key players like Mike James and his corresponding 18 points on the bench.
Greasy Weasels drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 12 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 9.
This brings the record for The Wondrful Gazonks to 5-4, and drops Greasy Weasels to a record of 4-5.
