The Slim Shaggys were led to their 5 point victory by a 20 point effort from Ahmad Bradshaw, who snuck past the Cincinnati Bengals defense for 52 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 36 receiving yards. With this performance, Bradshaw was the number 4 ranked running back for week 7. They also got help from a 14 point effort from Torrey Smith, who got by the Atlanta Falcons defense for 81 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.
“We’re going to savor this victory,” The Slim Shaggys coach Mark Olson said.
Z-Squad were helped out in a losing cause by a 18 point effort from Randall Cobb, who beat the Carolina Panthers defense for 121 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD in addition to 2 rushing yards. With this performance, Cobb was the number 5 ranked wide receiver for week 7. They also got help from a 14 point effort from Matt Ryan, who got by the Baltimore Ravens defense for 228 passing yards and 1 passing TD in addition to 7 rushing yards.
“I’m really proud of our guys,” Z-Squad coach Michael Grosz said.
Causing further embarrassment, Z-Squad could have scored 68 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Michael Grosz left key players like Jerick McKinnon and his corresponding 10 points on the bench.
The Slim Shaggys took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 11 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 7.
This brings the record for The Slim Shaggys to 3-4, and drops Z-Squad to a record of 1-6.
Coming up in week 8, the 7-0 Greasy Weasels are at Z-Squad, where Z-Squad are an early 19.1-point underdog, while The Slim Shaggys are at the 6-1 Bad Attitudes, where Bad Attitudes are an early 29.6-point favorite.
