October Hunters were led to their 2 point victory by a 22 point effort from Michael Crabtree, who beat the Pittsburgh Steelers defense for 108 receiving yards and 2 receiving TDs. With this performance, Crabtree was the number 3 ranked wide receiver for week 9. They also got help from a 17 point effort from Philip Rivers, who got by the Chicago Bears defense for 280 passing yards and 1 passing TD.
“I’m really proud of the way our guys hung in there,” October Hunters coach Orion Bell said.
The Hellfish were helped out in a losing cause by a 33 point effort from Aaron Rodgers, who tore apart the Carolina Panthers defense for 369 passing yards and 4 passing TDs in addition to 22 rushing yards. With this performance, Rodgers was the number 4 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 9. They also got help from a 16 point effort from Chris Ivory, who snuck past the Jacksonville Jaguars defense for 26 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 22 receiving yards.
“Our defense didn’t show up today,” The Hellfish coach Wade Iverson said.
October Hunters took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 9 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 9.
This brings the record for October Hunters to 7-2, and drops The Hellfish to a record of 5-4.
Coming up in week 10, the 2-7 Squishy Fuzz are at October Hunters, where October Hunters are an early 20.4-point favorite, while The Hellfish are at the 2-7 Hot Buttered Moose Nuts, where Hot Buttered Moose Nuts are an early 19.3-point underdog.
