Z-Squad were led to their 1 point victory by a 35 point effort from Cam Newton, who beat the New Orleans Saints defense for 331 passing yards and 5 passing TDs in addition to 49 rushing yards. With this performance, Newton was the number 2 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 13. They also got help from a 16 point effort from Brandin Cooks, who beat the Carolina Panthers defense for 104 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.
“I’m in a state of shock,” Z-Squad coach Michael Grosz said.
Elvis Impersonators were helped out in a losing cause by a 20 point effort from Derek Carr, who got by the Kansas City Chiefs defense for 283 passing yards and 2 passing TDs. They also got help from a 17 point effort from Martavis Bryant, who beat the Indianapolis Colts defense for 114 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.
“They’ve had our number all season,” Elvis Impersonators coach Brandon Mannie said.
Causing further embarrassment, Elvis Impersonators could have scored 82 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Brandon Mannie left key players like James Starks and his corresponding 5 points on the bench.
This brings the record for Z-Squad to 8-5, and drops Elvis Impersonators to a record of 7-6.
Coming up in week 14, Z-Squad are at the 9-4 October Hunters, where October Hunters are an early 7.8-point favorite.
