Elvis Impersonators were led to their 1 point victory by a 27 point effort from Drew Brees, who tore apart the Atlanta Falcons defense for 376 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 9 rushing yards. With this performance, Brees was the number 4 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 3. They also got help from a 22 point effort from Christine Michael, who beat the San Francisco 49ers defense for 106 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 5 receiving yards.
“We’re going to savor this victory,” Elvis Impersonators coach Brandon Mannie said.
Vinny’s Gang were helped out in a losing cause by a 20 point effort from Matt Ryan, who got by the New Orleans Saints defense for 240 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 23 rushing yards. They also got help from a 17 point effort from Allen Robinson, who snuck past the Baltimore Ravens defense for 57 receiving yards and 2 receiving TDs.
“They’ve had our number all season,” Vinny’s Gang coach Jon Steffan said.
Compounding the issue, Vinny’s Gang could have scored 95 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Jon Steffan left key players like Jameis Winston and his corresponding 30 points on the bench.
This brings the record for Elvis Impersonators to 3-0, and drops Vinny’s Gang to a record of 1-2.
Coming up in week 4, Elvis Impersonators are at the 2-1 Grid Iron Bullies, where Grid Iron Bullies are an early 9.7-point underdog, while the 1-2 The Undergarments are at Vinny’s Gang, where Vinny’s Gang are an early 17.7-point underdog.
