October Hunters were led to their 1 point victory by a 17 point effort from Brandon Marshall, who beat the Pittsburgh Steelers defense for 114 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. They also got help from a 16 point effort from Kirk Cousins, who got by the Baltimore Ravens defense for 260 passing yards and 1 passing TD.
“We knew we had to defend our home turf,” October Hunters coach Orion Bell said.
Elvis Impersonators were helped out in a losing cause by a 24 point effort from Martellus Bennett, who snuck past the Cleveland Browns defense for 67 receiving yards and 3 receiving TDs. With this performance, Bennett was the number 1 ranked tight end for week 5. They also got help from a 19 point effort from Theo Riddick, who snuck past the Philadelphia Eagles defense for 49 rushing yards in addition to 33 receiving yards.
“We don’t care about moral victories,” Elvis Impersonators coach Brandon Mannie said.
Compounding the issue, Elvis Impersonators could have scored 89 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Brandon Mannie left key players like Terrelle Pryor and his corresponding 4 points on the bench.
Elvis Impersonators drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 10 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 5.
This brings the record for October Hunters to 3-2, and drops Elvis Impersonators to a record of 3-2.
Coming up in week 6, Elvis Impersonators are at the 4-1 Twee Twerps, where Twee Twerps are an early 19.1-point favorite, while the 2-3 Z-Squad are at October Hunters, where October Hunters are an early 1.8-point favorite.
