Greasy Weasels were led to their 3 point victory by a 27 point effort from Carson Palmer, who tore apart the Carolina Panthers defense for 363 passing yards and 3 passing TDs. They also got help from a 12 point effort from Jordan Matthews, who snuck past the Dallas Cowboys defense for 65 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.
“We managed to eke out a win,” Greasy Weasels coach Mason Mannie said.
Z-Squad were helped out in a losing cause by a 16 point effort from Travis Kelce, who beat the Indianapolis Colts defense for 101 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. With this performance, Kelce was the number 3 ranked tight end for week 8. They also got help from a 14 point effort from Cam Newton, who got by the Arizona Cardinals defense for 212 passing yards in addition to 43 rushing yards.
“They out-coached us,” Z-Squad coach Michael Grosz said.
Adding salt to the wound, Z-Squad could have scored 94 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Michael Grosz left key players like Marcus Mariota and his corresponding 20 points on the bench.
This brings the record for Greasy Weasels to 3-5, and drops Z-Squad to a record of 3-5.
