(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources – Sep 25, 2017) In a week 3 UFFLE intra-divisional battle, Squishy Fuzz squeaked by a tough Twee Twerps team by a score of 95 to 93, silencing a partisan crowd of 71,316 at Tweeter.
Squishy Fuzz were led to their 2 point victory by a 24 point effort from Chris Thompson, who snuck past the Oakland Raiders defense for 38 rushing yards in addition to 150 receiving yards. With this performance, Thompson was the number 4 ranked running back for week 3. They also got help from a 21 point effort from Carlos Hyde, who got by the Los Angeles Rams defense for 84 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 10 receiving yards.
“We feed off the energy of our fans,” Squishy Fuzz coach Scott Stanina said.
Twee Twerps were helped out in a losing cause by a 32 point effort from Todd Gurley, who beat the San Francisco 49ers defense for 113 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 36 receiving yards. With this performance, Gurley was the number 2 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 3. They also got help from a 20 point effort from Drew Brees, who got by the Carolina Panthers defense for 220 passing yards and 3 passing TDs.
“We came out flat,” Twee Twerps coach Bob Filipy said.
Adding salt to the wound, Twee Twerps could have scored 101 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Bob Filipy left key players like Jonnu Smith and his corresponding 8 points on the bench.
Twee Twerps drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 11 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 3.
This brings the record for Squishy Fuzz to 1-2, and drops Twee Twerps to a record of 2-1.
Coming up in week 4, Twee Twerps are at the 3-0 The Hellfish, where The Hellfish are an early 11.8-point underdog, while the 0-3 The Wondrful Gazonks are at Squishy Fuzz, where Squishy Fuzz are an early 29.5-point favorite.
