Grid Iron Bullies were helped out by a 20.00 point effort from Austin Ekeler, who snuck past the New York Jets defense for 47 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 23 receiving yards. With this performance, Ekeler was the number 5 ranked running back for week 9. They also got help from a 17.65 point effort from Patrick Mahomes, who snuck past the Miami Dolphins defense for 185 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 24 rushing yards.
“We made our own breaks,” Grid Iron Bullies coach Eric Bell said.
Squishy Fuzz were helped out by a 15.30 point effort from Joe Mixon, who snuck past the Buffalo Bills defense for 37 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 31 receiving yards. They also got help from a 8.00 point effort from Chris Boswell, who beat the Tennessee Titans defense for 2 field goals made and 2 extra points.
“They outplayed us in every phase of the game,” Squishy Fuzz coach Scott Stanina said.
Compounding the issue, Squishy Fuzz could have scored 73.60 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Scott Stanina left key players like Tee Higgins and his corresponding 15.00 points on the bench.
Grid Iron Bullies took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 10 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 9.
This brings the record for Grid Iron Bullies to 3-6, and drops Squishy Fuzz to a record of 3-6.
Coming up in week 10, Squishy Fuzz are at the 3-6 Bad Attitudes, where Bad Attitudes are an early 5.3-point underdog, while the 7-2 Pickled Harrons are at Grid Iron Bullies, where Grid Iron Bullies are an early 0.9-point favorite.
