The Hellfish were led to their 3.50 point victory by a 22.00 point effort from Brandon Aubrey, who beat the New York Giants defense for 4 field goals made and 4 extra points. With this performance, Aubrey was the number 1 ranked place kicker for week 2. They also got help from a 20.05 point effort from Baker Mayfield, who got by the Houston Texans defense for 215 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 33 rushing yards.
“I’m in a state of shock,” The Hellfish coach Wade Iverson said.
Bad Attitudes were helped out in a losing cause by a 22.95 point effort from Trevor Lawrence, who got by the Cincinnati Bengals defense for 271 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 4 rushing yards. They also got help from a 15.90 point effort from Travis Etienne, who snuck past the Cincinnati Bengals defense for 71 rushing yards in addition to 18 receiving yards.
“It just wasn’t meant to be,” Bad Attitudes coach Steve Spickenreuther said.
Causing further embarrassment, Bad Attitudes could have scored 110.05 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Steve Spickenreuther left key players like Jaylen Waddle and his corresponding 15.30 points on the bench.
This brings the record for The Hellfish to 2-0, and drops Bad Attitudes to a record of 0-2.
Coming up in week 3, the 1-1 October Hunters are at The Hellfish, where The Hellfish are an early 2.6-point underdog, while Bad Attitudes are at the 2-0 Hot Buttered Moose Nuts, where Hot Buttered Moose Nuts are an early 13.7-point favorite.
