This win gives October Hunters the tie-breaker over The Lawn Wranglers for the final playoff spot.
“It was a total team effort,” October Hunters coach Orion Bell said.
The Lawn Wranglers were helped out by a 24.70 point effort from Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who got by the Atlanta Falcons defense for 92 receiving yards and 2 receiving TDs. With this performance, Smith-Njigba was the number 3 ranked wide receiver for week 14. They also got help from a 15.10 point effort from Bucky Irving, who snuck past the New Orleans Saints defense for 55 rushing yards in addition to 26 receiving yards.
“We had our chances but we let them slip away,” The Lawn Wranglers coach Todd Kammeijer said.
Adding salt to the wound, The Lawn Wranglers could have scored 101.65 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Todd Kammeijer left key players like Cameron Dicker and his corresponding 20.00 points on the bench.
This brings the record for October Hunters to 8-6, and drops The Lawn Wranglers to a record of 8-6.
Coming up in week 15, October Hunters are at the 9-5 Elvis Impersonators, where Elvis Impersonators are an early 23.3-point favorite.
