The Undergarments were led to their 15 point victory by a 24 point effort from Tony Romo, who beat the Philadelphia Eagles defense for 312 passing yards and 3 passing tds. With this performance, Romo was the number 5 ranked quarterback for week 2. They also got help from a 18 point effort from Tony Scheffler, who snuck past the San Diego Chargers defense for 64 receiving yards and 2 receiving tds.
“I’m happy I could make a contribution,” The Undergarments coach Eric Overgaard said.
Grid Iron Bullies were helped out in a losing cause by a 19 point effort from Julius Jones, who beat the San Francisco 49ers defense for 127 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 14 receiving yards. With this performance, Jones was the number 6 ranked running back for week 2. They also got help from a 18 point effort from Peyton Manning, who beat the Minnesota Vikings defense for 311 passing yards and 1 passing td.
“They wanted it more than we did,” Grid Iron Bullies coach Eric Bell said.
Adding salt to the wound, Grid Iron Bullies could have scored 84 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Eric Bell left key players like Justin Gage and his corresponding 11 points on the bench.
This brings the record for The Undergarments to 1-1, and drops Grid Iron Bullies to a record of 0-2.
