Elvis Impersonators (99) at Vinny’s Gang (88)

(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources – Sep 29, 2008) In a week 4 UFFLE intra-divisional showdown, Elvis Impersonators beat a strong Vinny’s Gang team by a score of 99 to 88, extending the winning streak for Elvis Impersonators to 3 games.

Elvis Impersonators were led to their 11 point victory by a 31 point effort from Larry Johnson, who tore apart the Denver Broncos defense for 198 rushing yards and 2 rushing tds. With this performance, Johnson was the number 2 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 4. They also got help from a 29 point effort from Kurt Warner, who tore apart the New York Jets defense for 472 passing yards and 2 passing tds.

“We sent a message here today,” Elvis Impersonators coach Brandon Mannie said.

Vinny’s Gang were helped out in a losing cause by a 22 point effort from Adrian Peterson, who got by the Tennessee Titans defense for 80 rushing yards and 2 rushing tds in addition to 21 receiving yards. With this performance, Peterson was the number 3 ranked running back for week 4. They also got help from a 14 point effort from Aaron Rodgers, who snuck past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense for 165 passing yards and 2 passing tds in addition to 8 rushing yards.

“We weren’t mentally prepared,” Vinny’s Gang coach Jon Steffan said.

Adding salt to the wound, Vinny’s Gang could have scored 109 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Jon Steffan left key players like Laveranues Coles and his corresponding 28 points on the bench.

This brings the record for Elvis Impersonators to 3-2, and drops Vinny’s Gang to a record of 1-4.

Coming up in week 5, the 4-1 Twee Twerps are at Elvis Impersonators, where Elvis Impersonators are an early 2.6-point favorite, while Vinny’s Gang are at the 4-0-1 San Quentin Saints, where San Quentin Saints are an early 10.2-point favorite.
