The Slim Shaggys were led to their 5 point victory by a 24 point effort from Ben Roethlisberger, who beat the Jacksonville Jaguars defense for 309 passing yards and 3 passing tds in addition to 2 rushing yards. With this performance, Roethlisberger was the number 4 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 5. They also got help from a 21 point effort from Clinton Portis, who beat the Philadelphia Eagles defense for 145 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 13 receiving yards.
“We’re not going to rest on our laurels,” The Slim Shaggys coach Mark Olson said.
The Hellfish were helped out in a losing cause by a 17 point effort from Jake Delhomme, who got by the Kansas City Chiefs defense for 236 passing yards and 2 passing tds in addition to 1 rushing yards. They also got help from a 17 point effort from Matt Forte, who snuck past the Detroit Lions defense for 36 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 25 receiving yards.
“We had our chances but we let them slip away,” The Hellfish coach Wade Iverson said.
Causing further embarrassment, The Hellfish could have scored 86 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Wade Iverson left key players like Shaun Suisham and his corresponding 15 points on the bench.
This brings the record for The Slim Shaggys to 1-4-1, and drops The Hellfish to a record of 2-4.
Coming up in week 6, The Hellfish are at the 4-2 Elvis Impersonators, where Elvis Impersonators are an early 17.7-point favorite, while the 2-4 Greasy Weasels are at The Slim Shaggys, where The Slim Shaggys are an early 21.2-point underdog.
