Elvis Impersonators were led to their 18 point victory by a 25 point effort from Kurt Warner, who tore apart the Carolina Panthers defense for 381 passing yards and 2 passing tds. With this performance, Warner was the number 4 ranked quarterback for week 8. They also got help from a 12 point effort from Steve Slaton, who snuck past the Cincinnati Bengals defense for 53 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 13 receiving yards.
“The important thing is that we won,” Elvis Impersonators coach Brandon Mannie said.
The Hellfish were helped out in a losing cause by a 18 point effort from Jake Delhomme, who got by the Arizona Cardinals defense for 248 passing yards and 2 passing tds. They also got help from a 12 point effort from Stephen Gostkowski, who snuck past the St. Louis Rams defense for 3 field goals made and 2 extra points.
“They caught us on an off night,” The Hellfish coach Wade Iverson said.
This brings the record for Elvis Impersonators to 6-3, and drops The Hellfish to a record of 2-7.
