The Slim Shaggys were led to their 33 point victory by a 24 point effort from DeAngelo Williams, who beat the Detroit Lions defense for 120 rushing yards and 2 rushing tds. With this performance, Williams was the number 4 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 11. They also got help from a 20 point effort from Maurice Jones-Drew, who snuck past the Tennessee Titans defense for 66 rushing yards and 2 rushing tds in addition to 27 receiving yards.
“Our fans were the 12th man today,” The Slim Shaggys coach Mark Olson said.
The Hellfish were helped out in a losing cause by a 13 point effort from Stephen Gostkowski, who snuck past the New York Jets defense for 3 field goals made and 2 extra points. With this performance, Gostkowski was the number 6 ranked place kicker for week 11. They also got help from a 10 point effort from Matt Forte, who snuck past the Green Bay Packers defense for 64 rushing yards in addition to 40 receiving yards.
“They outplayed us in every phase of the game,” The Hellfish coach Wade Iverson said.
Adding salt to the wound, The Hellfish could have scored 87 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Wade Iverson left key players like Matt Cassel and his corresponding 36 points on the bench.
This brings the record for The Slim Shaggys to 6-4-3, and drops The Hellfish to a record of 3-10.
