(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources – Dec 1, 2008) In a week 13 UFFLE intra-divisional showdown, The Wondrful Gazonks embarrassed a hapless Z-Squad team by a score of 86 to 52, extending the losing streak for Z-Squad to 3 games.
The Wondrful Gazonks were led to their 34 point victory by a 37 point effort from Brian Westbrook, who beat the Arizona Cardinals defense for 110 rushing yards and 2 rushing tds in addition to 20 receiving yards. With this performance, Westbrook was the number 1 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 13. They also got help from a 12 point effort from Tyler Thigpen, who snuck past the Oakland Raiders defense for 162 passing yards in addition to 48 rushing yards.
“This team shows a lot of character,” The Wondrful Gazonks coach Josh Vadnais said.
Z-Squad were helped out in a losing cause by a 18 point effort from David Garrard, who got by the Houston Texans defense for 287 passing yards and 1 passing td in addition to 10 rushing yards. They also got help from a 8 point effort from Frank Gore, who snuck past the Buffalo Bills defense for 66 rushing yards in addition to 23 receiving yards.
“Not to take away anything from our opponents, but we didn’t play like we’re capable of playing,” Z-Squad coach Michael Grosz said.
This brings the record for The Wondrful Gazonks to 8-7-1, and drops Z-Squad to a record of 9-5-2.
Coming up in week 14, Z-Squad are at the 11-3-2 San Quentin Saints, where San Quentin Saints are an early 7.1-point favorite.
