They also got help from a 18 point effort from Tony Gonzalez, who beat the Washington Redskins defense for 123 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.
“We really took it to ’em,” The Hellfish coach Wade Iverson said.
The Wondrful Gazonks were helped out in a losing cause by a 22 point effort from Percy Harvin, who beat the Tennessee Titans defense for 108 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD in addition to 8 rushing yards. With this performance, Harvin was the number 4 ranked wide receiver for week 5. They also got help from a 11 point effort from Cam Newton, who snuck past the Seattle Seahawks defense for 141 passing yards in addition to 42 rushing yards.
“My hat’s off to them,” The Wondrful Gazonks coach Josh Vadnais said.
Adding salt to the wound, The Wondrful Gazonks could have scored 92 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Josh Vadnais left key players like Christian Ponder and his corresponding 21 points on the bench.
This brings the record for The Hellfish to 2-3, and drops The Wondrful Gazonks to a record of 4-1.
