Grid Iron Bullies were led to their 2 point victory by a 25 point effort from Darren Sproles, who snuck past the Miami Dolphins defense for 28 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 114 receiving yards. With this performance, Sproles was the number 2 ranked running back for week 4. They also got help from a 21 point effort from Frank Gore, who beat the St. Louis Rams defense for 153 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD.
“We knew we had to defend our home turf,” Grid Iron Bullies coach Eric Bell said.
The Wondrful Gazonks were helped out in a losing cause by a 26 point effort from Adrian Peterson, who beat the Pittsburgh Steelers defense for 140 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs. With this performance, Peterson was the number 1 ranked running back for week 4. They also got help from a 22 point effort from Ben Roethlisberger, who tore apart the Minnesota Vikings defense for 383 passing yards and 1 passing TD.
“We weren’t mentally prepared,” The Wondrful Gazonks coach Josh Vadnais said.
Compounding the issue, The Wondrful Gazonks could have scored 118 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Josh Vadnais left key players like Coby Fleener and his corresponding 13 points on the bench.
The Wondrful Gazonks drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 11 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 4.
This brings the record for Grid Iron Bullies to 4-0, and drops The Wondrful Gazonks to a record of 2-2.
