October Hunters were led to their 1 point victory by a 34 point effort from Kirk Cousins, who tore apart the Green Bay Packers defense for 425 passing yards and 4 passing TDs in addition to 5 rushing yards. With this performance, Cousins was the number 3 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 2. They also got help from a 21 point effort from Matt Breida, who beat the Detroit Lions defense for 138 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 21 receiving yards.
“I’m in a state of shock,” October Hunters coach Orion Bell said.
Vinny’s Gang were helped out in a losing cause by a 25 point effort from Deshaun Watson, who beat the Tennessee Titans defense for 310 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 44 rushing yards. They also got help from a 23 point effort from Melvin Gordon, who snuck past the Buffalo Bills defense for 28 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 38 receiving yards.
“We don’t care about moral victories,” Vinny’s Gang coach Jon Steffan said.
Compounding the issue, Vinny’s Gang could have scored 119 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Jon Steffan left key players like Ryan Fitzpatrick and his corresponding 32 points on the bench.
Vinny’s Gang drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 9 out of 11 other potential opponents in week 2.
This brings the record for October Hunters to 2-0, and drops Vinny’s Gang to a record of 1-1.
