The Slim Shaggys were led to their 0.90 point victory by a 20.55 point effort from C.J. Stroud, who tore apart the Cincinnati Bengals defense for 353 passing yards in addition to 29 rushing yards. They also got help from a 11.10 point effort from Romeo Doubs, who got by the Pittsburgh Steelers defense for 96 receiving yards.
“They gave us a big scare,” The Slim Shaggys coach Mark Olson said.
Pickled Harrons were helped out in a losing cause by a 18.30 point effort from Rashod Bateman, who got by the New Orleans Saints defense for 88 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. They also got help from a 16.35 point effort from Joe Burrow, who got by the Houston Texans defense for 207 passing yards and 2 passing TDs.
“We’ll just have to put this loss behind us,” Pickled Harrons coach Cooper Harron said.
Adding salt to the wound, Pickled Harrons could have scored 82.65 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Cooper Harron left key players like Drew Lock and his corresponding 20.75 points on the bench.
The Slim Shaggys took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 12 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 2.
This brings the record for The Slim Shaggys to 1-1, and drops Pickled Harrons to a record of 0-2.
