Twee Twerps were led to their 20 point victory by a 23 point effort from Steve Smith, who beat the Arizona Cardinals defense for 117 receiving yards and 2 receiving tds. With this performance, Smith was the number 2 ranked wide receiver for week 8. They also got help from a 21 point effort from Leon Washington, who snuck past the Kansas City Chiefs defense for 67 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 34 receiving yards.
“We feed off the energy of our fans,” Twee Twerps coach Bob Filipy said.
Z-Squad were helped out in a losing cause by a 15 point effort from Frank Gore, who got by the Seattle Seahawks defense for 94 rushing yards in addition to 65 receiving yards. They also got help from a 11 point effort from Jeff Garcia, who got by the Dallas Cowboys defense for 227 passing yards in addition to 7 rushing yards.
“They own us,” Z-Squad coach Michael Grosz said.
Compounding the issue, Z-Squad could have scored 84 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Michael Grosz left key players like David Garrard and his corresponding 25 points on the bench.
This brings the record for Twee Twerps to 7-2, and drops Z-Squad to a record of 5-2-2.
Coming up in week 9, Z-Squad are at the 4-5 Grid Iron Bullies, where Grid Iron Bullies are an early 11.6-point underdog, while Twee Twerps are at the 7-2 Squishy Fuzz, where Squishy Fuzz are an early 14.9-point favorite.
