Grid Iron Bullies were led to their 7 point victory by a 23 point effort from the Denver Broncos Defensive Team. With this performance, the Broncos was the number 1 ranked defensive team for week 7. They also got help from a 19 point effort from John Brown, who beat the New Orleans Saints defense for 134 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.
“This team shows a lot of character,” Grid Iron Bullies coach Eric Bell said.
Greasy Weasels were helped out in a losing cause by a 24 point effort from Cam Newton, who got by the Philadelphia Eagles defense for 269 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 49 rushing yards. With this performance, Newton was the number 5 ranked quarterback for week 7. They also got help from a 17 point effort from Kerryon Johnson, who beat the Miami Dolphins defense for 158 rushing yards in addition to 21 receiving yards.
“We came out flat,” Greasy Weasels coach Mason Mannie said.
Compounding the issue, Greasy Weasels could have scored 110 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Mason Mannie left key players like Marlon Mack and his corresponding 29 points on the bench.
This brings the record for Grid Iron Bullies to 2-5, and drops Greasy Weasels to a record of 3-4.
