Nobody seems to have a problem with August 16th for a draft date, so I am going to make it official. The Draft with be on August 16th at 10:00 AM CDT.

Elvis Impersonators Win Fantasy Bowl XV

7393.jpg Congratulations to the Elvis Impersonators, and Fantasy Bowl MVP Larry Fitzgerald for winning Fantasy Bowl XV. It was the second Fantasy Bowl win for the Elvis Impersonators in three tries.

It was a disappointing ending to the best season the Squishy Fuzz have ever had. They finished the season with the best record in the league, but just fell short in Fantasy Bowl XV. The Squishy Fuzz are now 0-2 in Fantasy Bowl games.

Squishy Fuzz (67) at Elvis Impersonators (85)

(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources – Dec 22, 2008) In a week 16 UFFLE showdown, Elvis Impersonators beat a strong Squishy Fuzz team by a score of 85 to 67, silencing a partisan crowd of 70,864.

Elvis Impersonators were led to their 18 point victory by a 16 point effort from Larry Fitzgerald, who beat the New England Patriots defense for 101 receiving yards and 1 receiving td. With this performance, Fitzgerald was the number 4 ranked wide receiver for week 16. They also got help from a 13 point effort from Rian Lindell, who snuck past the Denver Broncos defense for 3 field goals made and 3 extra points.

“This team has finally learned how to win,” Elvis Impersonators coach Brandon Mannie said.

Squishy Fuzz were helped out in a losing cause by a 23 point effort from Drew Brees, who tore apart the Detroit Lions defense for 351 passing yards and 2 passing tds. They also got help from a 11 point effort from Vincent Jackson, who beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense for 111 receiving yards.

“We’ll just have to put this loss behind us,” Squishy Fuzz coach Scott Stanina said.

This brings the record for Elvis Impersonators to 11-4-1, and drops Squishy Fuzz to a record of 12-3-1.

MVP Tie

We had a three way tie for MVP, so I am opening up another poll to try to break the tie. Co-MVPs would be fine, but three? If there is still a tie after this poll, then we will just have three MVPs. I am really getting annoyed by ties this season.

Elvis Impersonators (74) at Twee Twerps (68)

(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources – Dec 15, 2008) In a week 15 UFFLE showdown, Elvis Impersonators squeaked by a tough Twee Twerps team by a score of 74 to 68, silencing a partisan crowd of 71,597.

Elvis Impersonators were led to their 6 point victory by a 24 point effort from Michael Turner, who beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense for 152 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 30 receiving yards. With this performance, Turner was the number 4 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 15. They also got help from a 16 point effort from Kurt Warner, who got by the Minnesota Vikings defense for 270 passing yards and 1 passing td.

“We’re going to use this win as a building block,” Elvis Impersonators coach Brandon Mannie said.

Twee Twerps were helped out in a losing cause by a 22 point effort from Steve Smith, who beat the Denver Broncos defense for 165 receiving yards and 1 receiving td in addition to 9 rushing yards. With this performance, Smith was the number 2 ranked wide receiver for week 15. They also got help from a 18 point effort from Steven Jackson, who got by the Seattle Seahawks defense for 91 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 36 receiving yards.

“Turnovers killed us,” Twee Twerps coach Bob Filipy said.

Causing further embarrassment, Twee Twerps could have scored 97 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Bob Filipy left key players like Antonio Bryant and his corresponding 16 points on the bench.

This brings the record for Elvis Impersonators to 11-4-1, and drops Twee Twerps to a record of 10-5-1.

Squishy Fuzz (88) at San Quentin Saints (78)

Squishy Fuzz were led to their 10 point victory by a 17 point effort from Drew Brees, who got by the Chicago Bears defense for 232 passing yards and 2 passing tds in addition to 1 rushing yards. They also got help from a 17 point effort from Calvin Johnson, who beat the Indianapolis Colts defense for 110 receiving yards and 1 receiving td.

“I was just doing my job,” Squishy Fuzz coach Scott Stanina said.

San Quentin Saints were helped out in a losing cause by a 20 point effort from Donovan McNabb, who got by the Cleveland Browns defense for 290 passing yards and 2 passing tds. They also got help from a 14 point effort from Marques Colston, who got by the Chicago Bears defense for 84 receiving yards and 1 receiving td.

“They out-hustled us,” San Quentin Saints coach Sean Boggess said.

San Quentin Saints drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 10 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 15.

This brings the record for Squishy Fuzz to 12-3-1, and drops San Quentin Saints to a record of 11-3-2.

The polls are up for this year’s MVP and Rookie of the Year. To be eligible for MVP a player must have started at least eight games, their team must have made the playoffs, and they must be in the top 30 scorers. To be eligible for Rookie of the Year the player just needed to start at least six games. Go and vote now. The polls close on the 18th.

They also got help from a 12 point effort from John Carlson, who snuck past the New England Patriots defense for 69 receiving yards and 1 receiving td.

“I’m happy I could make a contribution,” San Quentin Saints coach Sean Boggess said.

Z-Squad were helped out in a losing cause by a 12 point effort from David Garrard, who snuck past the Chicago Bears defense for 178 passing yards and 1 passing td in addition to 11 rushing yards. They also got help from a 12 point effort from Frank Gore, who snuck past the New York Jets defense for 52 rushing yards in addition to 13 receiving yards.

“We’ll just have to put this loss behind us,” Z-Squad coach Michael Grosz said.

Compounding the issue, Z-Squad could have scored 67 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Michael Grosz left key players like Jeff Garcia and his corresponding 22 points on the bench.

This brings the record for San Quentin Saints to 11-3-2, and drops Z-Squad to a record of 9-5-2.
