Vinny’s Gang (89) at Greasy Weasels (97)

(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources – Nov 24, 2008) In a week 12 UFFLE intra-divisional rivalry, Greasy Weasels squeaked by a tough Vinny’s Gang team by a score of 97 to 89, behind the support of 72,133 faithful fans.

Greasy Weasels were led to their 8 point victory by a 21 point effort from Philip Rivers, who got by the Indianapolis Colts defense for 288 passing yards and 2 passing tds in addition to 15 rushing yards. They also got help from a 18 point effort from Warrick Dunn, who got by the Detroit Lions defense for 90 rushing yards and 1 rushing td in addition to 37 receiving yards.

“This team shows a lot of pride,” Greasy Weasels coach Mason Mannie said.

Vinny’s Gang were helped out in a losing cause by a 28 point effort from Aaron Rodgers, who got by the New Orleans Saints defense for 248 passing yards and 2 passing tds in addition to 36 rushing yards. With this performance, Rodgers was the number 5 ranked quarterback for week 12. They also got help from a 19 point effort from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defensive Team.

“We came up a little short,” Vinny’s Gang coach Jon Steffan said.

Causing further embarrassment, Vinny’s Gang could have scored 116 points and gotten the win with their best lineup, but Jon Steffan left key players like Chad Pennington and his corresponding 32 points on the bench.

Vinny’s Gang drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 11 out of 12 other potential opponents in week 12.

This brings the record for Greasy Weasels to 8-7, and drops Vinny’s Gang to a record of 4-10-1.

Coming up in week 13, Greasy Weasels are at the 11-4 Elvis Impersonators, where Elvis Impersonators are an early 5.5-point favorite, while Vinny’s Gang are at the 10-4-1 Twee Twerps, where Twee Twerps are an early 13.7-point favorite.
